Just like Abby in this picture, things are starting to look up. She is finally over the "d" word and the cold symptoms she had on Monday and Tuesday have already started clearing up today. It is just too bad that she was not herself during her birthday festivities.
She really had fun seeing her family and friends that were able to make it. Adding about 12 people to our house makes our house feel a little smaller than it normally does, but we sure enjoyed having everyone.
Yesterday afternoon was Abby's twelve month appointment and she lucked out and did not have any shots. Since she had a rough couple of days, the doctor said it was fine to go ahead and postpone the shots until the 15 month appointment. She is 28 3/4 inches long and still required to sit in the rear-facing seat since she only weighed 17 pounds 4 ounces. Now that she has started to feel better, her appetite has picked up a little and maybe she will start gaining some weight. We have also said good-bye to the bottle and started her on whole milk, which she loves. The doctor gave her the go-ahead to eat pretty much anything she wants except for nuts, pork rinds, and deep-fried Snicker bars.
