After a LOT of discussion about the size of our family, we finally decided we would like to have another baby! We have already verified with an ultrasound that there is only one baby, although Abby told us that she thought it would be nice if Mom would have a boy and a girl baby.
Abby and Evan are excited about the new sibling on the way, especially Abby because she understands everything a little more than Evan. The hardest part of knowing that Mom is pregnant for Abby and Evan is their concept of time.
While on vacation, we told our first two about the one on the way. Abby's response was, "It can be a secret!" To our surprise, she did keep it a secret. It was not until we were home from vacation that she actually grasped the fact that there was a baby in Mom's belly. She patted Mom on the stomach and was told, "You can't do that too hard, there is a baby in there you know." At that moment she gasped and shouted, "Oh, I am so excited!" After that she wanted to tell other people about the news.
