The Siblings

Brooke is lucky to have a brother and sister who love her so much. Abby was particularly excited to find out she had a new sister. She made us laugh, however, when we called her from the hospital to tell her the news and she said that we picked the wrong name for her new sister. "You should name her Clarice" was her response to finding out her sister was named Brooke. The next morning Abby went as far as to make a chart so we could better understand her point-of-view with good names like Abby and Clarice on one side and names that were not good on the other - which is where she put Brooke's name. It took her a few days, but she eventually accepted that her sister's name was Brooke and even gave one of her stuffed animals Brooke for a last name.
Evan is not as interested in his new sister as Abby, but he will talk to her and stand and watch her and even held her for a few seconds. The question he has asked several times since his new sister arrived is, "Can she play?" Unfortunately for him, we have to tell him that she cannot play with him yet and because of this he thinks she is a little boring.
