Sometimes things don't always go as you would plan them to, but that is what makes them memorable, right? A perfect example is Evan falling down and hitting his chin on the hardwood floor while running ninety miles per hour through the house on the day of his birthday party resulting in an instantly blue chin that would be in all of his birthday party pictures. The good news is that there was nothing broken - we were a bit worried when it turned blue and became goose egg-like but he passed the test of chewing a mouthful of gumdrops with flying colors so we figured he was okay.
This bruise does gain him some attention; whenever we go places, people inquire, "What did you do to your chin, little boy?" Every time he tells them, "I hit it on a board."
We thought it was funny the name he gave to this injury - he called it his "purple beard" and his "bubble chin." If it bothered him he never let on, mostly because he could not see it. When he has a little scratch on his finger that he can see, that bothers him. A huge bruise on his face that he is not constantly looking at, no problem!
