The Effects of Spicy Food on Evan

When Mom explained to Evan that sometimes spicy food can make a person have a runny nose, he said very matter-of-factly, "It doesn't do that to me, it just makes my eye boogers dance."

It is baffling that stores put out samples of really spicy food without anything nearby to drink. Maybe they have a hidden camera up to get people's reactions? I usually pass these offerings up, but quite often there are people who are taking a "three alarm chili cracker" off of the plate and then looking a bit frenzied because they really need something to wash it down.  And of course the kids have learned where to look in certain stores for samples and they get a little disappointed when they are told they cannot have a cracker because it is spicy and they have nothing to drink with it. Besides, we would not want their eye boogers dancing all over in public!

Here is a picture taken by Abby of our little helper playing in the dirt while Mom put in a few flowers.  This is the same boy that thought dumping an entire bag of potting soil out by the front step would be a good idea.  But little boys love to play in the dirt, so how can a person get too mad?
