Hurricane Abby

Hurricane Abby, the biggest storm ever to hit the state of Illinois, has caused severe damage in towns across southwestern Illinois. It only took the category 3 storm seconds to turn a once orderly home (shown below) into complete wreckage. Residents are appealing to the governor to declare the yellow bedroom, which was the hardest hit, a disaster area.
Mike McGinnis, a life-long Midwesterner, said, "I had never seen anything like it. If I would have known it was going to be that bad, I would have evacuated. I did not even know that hurricanes came this far north. We are just starting to pick up the pieces and will be working hard to get things back to normal." Luckily for residents, a clean-up crew arrived on the scene shortly after the storm moved out of the area.
