Today Abby went on her second field trip of the school year, this time to the fire station. Her little brother and sister were lucky enough to go along. The entire class walked down a bumpy, hilly sidewalk a few blocks with Abby the Line Leader holding her teacher's hand to guide us. On the way there, little Brooke slept although it seemed somewhat impossible given the rough shape the sidewalks in that section of town are in. During our time at the fire station, Evan and his big sister got to see all of the tools on the fire engine, go inside an ambulance, see a firefighter slide down the fire pole, watch a firemen suit up for a fire, ask the firefighters questions, and see where the firemen eat and sleep while on duty at night. During all of that Brooke was a very good little baby. When it came time to sit back in the stroller for the ride back to school, however, she decided that was not what she wanted to do. Much to her mother's dismay (and everyone else within earshot) Brooke cried almost all the way back to school. Of all the times to not suck her thumb, she picked today!
