The Note Worth Noting

The postman brought us a thank you note all the way from Iraq yesterday. The care package we sent off last month to Staff Sergeant Deniz made it safely there and was split 7 ways. The note we received was signed by 7 Marines. They said, "This gesture definitely goes beyond what words or gracefulness on our behalf can ever show you," and, "it's a blessing to know that someone other than our personal family cares enough to send gifts." We had told them not to bother writing a thank you note, but it was nice to hear that the package made it there and we were glad to help out. I don't think many people realize how much they are forced to pay out of their own pockets. They have to buy all of their gear, pay for their own haircuts, food, and other necessities like toiletries.
